Hot, hotter, smart!

🇩🇪 Endlich konnte ich das seit mehreren Wochen angekündigte Arcryla-City-Bild fertigstellen. Dieses hat seinen Ursprung darin, dass zu der Zeit, als das Mayor-Prompt auf besagtem Discord-Server aktuell war, irgendjemand im Scherz meinte, wir könnten unsere OCs in „hot“ zeichnen.

Die Idee blieb in meinem Hirn hängen und diese Woche habe ich sie endlich auch fertigstellen können.

🇬🇧 Finally I was able to finish the Arcryla City painting that I had been announcing for several weeks now. Its origin is that at the time when the mayor prompt was the newest thing on said Discord server, someone jokingly said that we could draw our OCs in „hot“.

The idea stuck and this week I was able to finish this art piece.

„Lunchtime„

After a hard morning’s work in the mechanical entrails of Arcryla City, Crissy sat down for a lunch break. But wherever there is a screw to tighten, Crissy will fix it and even forget about her cheese lettuce tomato egg and mayonnaise sandwich.

Da ich vor zwei Wochen sämtliche Folgen aufgeholt habe, bin ich inzwischen wieder im aktuellen Amphibia-Flow drin. Kaum hatte ich gesagt, dass mein Lieblingscharakter Marcy ist, tauchte vor einer Woche dann ein weiterer Charakter auf, der mir ausnehmend gut gefallen hat: Terri.

Auch von ihr fühlte ich mich dann bemüßigt Fanart anzufertigen:

Since I caught up with all the episodes two weeks ago, I am now back in the current Amphibia flow. No sooner had I said that my favourite character is Marcy than another character turned up a week ago who I really liked: Terri.

She urged me again to do Amphibia fanart:

A Linktober to the OC’s Fanart Emoji

🇩🇪 Ihr habt es gemerkt, der Oktober ist da! Und wie jedes Jahr begebe ich mich auch in diesem auf eine tintige Reise. Schon im letzten Jahr bin ich über den Linktober gestolpert. Damals war ich bereits in zwei Challenges involviert und der Oktober ohnehin fast zu Ende. Dieses Jahr werde ich aber von vorne bis hinten mit dabei sein.

Oben links könnt ihr tagtäglich die Fortschritte nun mitverfolgen. Um die ganze Geschiche zu lesen, empfehle ich aber auch, diese auf der entsprechenden Themenseite nachzuschlagen.

Auf Abenteuer geschickt habe ich meinen Zorca-OC, die ihr bereits aus dem Jahr 2019 und dem Redraw im Rahmen des Mermay 2021 kennt. Nun hat sie endlich auch einen Namen erhalten – Navarra.

I sent my Zorca OC on the adventure who you already know from 2019 and the redraw in Mermay 2021. Now she finally has been given a name – Navarra.

Außer der Linktober-Challenge habe ich mich in der letzten Woche aber auch noch am Erstellen von Emojis z. B. für Discord-Server versucht. Das hat sogar so gut funktioniert, dass ich sie ab nun als Willkommensgeschenk und Treue-Bonus in meine Patreon-Benefits mit aufgenommen habe.

Eines davon ist zugleich auch ausgewachsene Fanart geworden: Zoe, eine der Personen, denen man im (sehr intensen und nahegehenden und deshalb schwer zu empfehlenden) Videospiel Road 96 auf dem Weg zur Grenze begegnet.

Apart from the Linktober Challenge, I also tried creating emojis for example for Discord servers. This turned out so well that I have now included them in my Patreon benefits as welcome gift and loyalty bonus.

One of them even became a full scale fanart piece: Zoe, one of the characters you meet on the way to the border in the (very intense and touching and therefore highly recommendable) video game Road 96.

#MeetMyOCs ging in die dritte Runde. Neben Navarra hat nun auch Crissys Crush endlich einen Namen erhalten und Emil emilt fröhlich vor sich hin. An dieser Stelle werneut der dezente (*hust!*) Hinweis, dass ihr das Template mit transparentem Hintergrund auch über Patreon oder Ko-fi beziehen könnt.

„Midnight Snack“

Crissy’s pets are water bears. They usually are not bigger in size than one millimeter. Therefore, Crissy constructed a mechanical water bear so she can take them for a walk, equipped with a projectoscope to watch them living their little water bear lives. Every so often she has to feed them algae, of course.

🇩🇪 wie Revidieren … Denn dies muss ich, und zwar meine Aussage von letzter Woche, dass gestern ein weiterer Arcryla City-Showcase stattfand und ich euch deshalb jetzt erst das nächste Bild von Crissy zeigen kann. Da ich ein komplettes Wochenende verpeilt und gedacht hatte, der 02. Oktober sei gestern schon gewesen, müsst ihr somit nun leider noch eine weitere Woche auf das September-Event warten.

… wie Redesign. Ihr habt es beim Aufruf dieser Seite bereits gemerkt: Ich habe diese eine, größeren Designwechsel unterzogen. Das alte fand ich inzwischen doch ein wenig langweilig und altbacken und das neue hat einige Features, die ich an dem alten vermisst hatte.

Zum Beispiel findet ihr nun einen Google-Translate-Button rechts oben, mit dem ihr euch jede (Unter)Seite übersetzen lassen könnt. Ich werde dennoch weiterhin bilingual schreiben bzw. das Projekt „Übersetzung ins Englische“ vorantreiben, da die Ergebnisse mit dem Google-Translator teils zu recht skurrilen Ergebnissen führen. Insbesondere betreffs der älteren (deutschsprachigen) Seiten und Beiträge bringt er euch hoffentlich zumindest eine Idee, um was es auf diesen geht.

… wie Redraw. Nicht nur meine Webseite hatte dringend eine Überarbeitung nötig, ebenso hat sich mein Charakter Luca im Laufe der Geschichte um Cedrakon in den letzten anderthalb Jahren unablässig verändert. Ihr aktuelles Design wich inzwischen doch deutlich von jenem Bild ab, das ich als allerallerstes überhaupt für diese Geschichte gezeichnet hatte.

Deshalb war nun auch hier dringend ein Redraw nötig:

🇬🇧 like Revise … Because I have to. Last week I told you that another Arcryla City showcase took place yesterday and that I can therefore show you the next picture of Crissy today. Since I didn’t took into account a whole weekend and thought that 2 October had already been yesterday, I am sorry that I have to tell you hat you will have to wait another week for the September event.

… like Redesign. Surely, you already noticed: I did a major design change of my website. I thought the old one was a little bit boring and old-fashioned and the new one has some features that I missed on the old one.

For example, you now will find a Google Translate button at the top right to translate any (sub)pages. I will continue to write bilingually and to push ahead with the project „translation into English“, though, as the results with the Google Translator sometimes lead to funny results. Especially with regard to the older (German-language) pages and articles, hopefully it will at least give you an idea of what they are about.

… like Redraw. Not only my website was in need of an design upgrade, but my character Luca too changed constantly over the course of one and a half years during telling The Tale of Cedrakon. Her current design noticaebly differs from the painting I drew as very first painting at all in preparation for this story.

Therefore a redraw was required:

Coming soo…now!

🇩🇪 Angekündigt hatte ich es bereits vor zweite Wochen, jetzt ist es endlich fertig und ich kann es euch hier präsentieren:

Schon während des Arcryla City Summer Festivals (🇬🇧) kamen der talentieren Potato Beta (Instagram) und mir die Idee zu einem Kollaborationsprojekt, in dem ihr Arcryla-City-Charakter (Potato) meinem (Crissy) Tipps in Liebesangelegenheiten gibt. Crissy sozialisiert sich nur sehr zurückhaltend, einen Anknüpfungspunkt fanden wir trotzdem sehr schnell:

🇬🇧 I announced it already two weeks ago, now it’s finally finished and I can share it here:

The idea of a collaboration project struck the talented Potato Beta (Instagram) and me already during the Arcryla City Summer Festival. This idea was about her Arcryla City character (Potato) giving mine (Crissy) advice in matters of the heart. Crissy doesn’t socialise easily but we soon found a starting point:

Sleepover

Sooo, Crissy met Potato after her Ring Toss photo shoot, as she asked Crissy to build an Anti-G Device, so they could fly. They quickly became good friends and this evening they planned a girls‘ night!

They decided to make a sleepover, which took place on Crissy’s flat as Conway is currently living in Potato’s house and they didn’t want someone overhearing their conversations.

They ate a lot and talked a ton, and after some fish drinks true feeling came to light…

Crissy: “ So who was that guy in the photo shoot?“
Potato: “ Ummm… he was… my…. childhood friend… but now, he’s… SO I saw you flying the other day with someone who is she??? Is she your CRUSH??“
Crissy (instant blushing): „Err … Paula? … No … I mean … yes … no … perhaps …“
Potato: „Oohhh Paula… cute name! You make a nice couple! Do you plan on confessing??
Crissy (going full tomato mode): „Con… err … no … umm …“ (mumbling around) „Just a customer … don’t know … don’t think … isn’t interested in me …“

Neben diesem Bild befindet sich noch ein zweites bereits in der Zielkurve, an dem ich die letzte Woche am Arbeiten war. Da dieses jedoch für einen weiteren Showcase auf dem Arcryla-City Discord-Server bestimmt ist, werdet ihr es erst nächste Woche an der bekannten Stelle (🇬🇧) finden.

Apart from this painting there also is a second one in the final bend on which I worked last week. Because it is supposed to be presented on another Arcryla City showcase, you will find it on the known site next week.

Another year gone

🇩🇪 Diesen Absatz wollte ich eigentlich letzte Woche bereits schreiben, doch wäre es wahrscheinlich der Crissy (🇬🇧)-Overload geworden.

Mein DTIYS (🇬🇧) auf Instagram läuft nun schon ca. ein Monat lange. In dieser Zeit sind auch schon ein paar Beiträge eingegangen, auf die ich an dieser Stelle – mit einem kleinen Kommentar dazu – verlinken möchte. Vielen lieben Dank an alle bisherigen Teilnehmer!

🇩🇪 Die Preise sind da!

Hatte ich euch letzte Woche nur ein Bild präsentieren können, ist es heute gleich eine ganze Galerie Crissys.

Crissy 1: Letzte Woch hatte ich euch mitteilen können, dass ich beim Arcryla City Summer Festival (🇬🇧) den dritten Platz gemacht habe! Für diesen gab es natürlich auch einen Preis. Unser Council-Mitglied Vannie Ven hat einen Emote erstellt, den ich auf dem Arcryla-City-Discord-Server benutzen kann, und der meinen Originalcharakter Crissy (🇬🇧) abbildet. Ebenso habe ich die Erlaubnis, dieses zu posten wo immer ich möchte:

Last week I worried to present only one painting, today it is a whole galery Crissies.

Crissy 1: Last week I told you that I made the third place at the Arcryla City Summer Festival. And there were a price! Council Member Vannie Ven created an emote which I can use on the Arcryla City Discord Server and which shows my original character Crissy. Of course I am also allowed to post it wherever I like:

Crissy 2: Seit einiger Zeit verfolge ich die Simply Silly Comics und unterstütze diese ebenso auf Patreon. Eine der Vorteile, die man erhalten kann, wenn man diese auf Patreon unterstützt, ist, dass man monatlich eine freie Commission hat und diese auch dazu genutzt werden kann, eine Zeichnung zu erhalten, auf dem der eigene Charakter mit jenen aus dem Comics interagiert. Diese Belohnung habe ich nun eingelöst.

Bekanntermaßen hat Crissy einen Crush, die dessen aber offenbar vollkommen ahnungslos ist. Silvia, der Hauptfigur der Simply Silly Comics geht es genauso. Während Crissy aber zu introvertiert ist, um überhaupt auch nur einen Versuch der Annäherung zu unternehmen, ist Silvia da zumindest in der Theorie zielstrebiger (scheitert in der Praxis aber ständig). Deshalb formte sich das folgende Bild in meinem Kopf, das die Zeichner im Simply-Silly-Team dann auch umgesetzt haben:

Crissy 2: Some time ago I started following the Simply Simply Silly and I am also supporting them on Patreon. One benefit of supporting them on Patreon is the reward in the form of a monthly free commission. This comission can be used to get a painting in which an own character interacts with one of the Simply Silly characters. I chose to go for this kind of commission.

As a well known fact Crissy has a crush one someone who doesn’t even seem to know about it. Likewise Silvia, the main character of the Simply Silly comics. But as Crissy is to introvert to even try an approach, Silvia is more determined, in theory at least (in practice she is failing constantly). So I got this picture in my head which the Simply Silly artists painted for me:

Ursprünglich hatte ich diese Bild als Beitrag zu den allgemeinen Prompts (🇬🇧) des Summer Festvials geplant, jedoch recht bald gemerkt, dass ich es nicht mehr vor der Deadline fertigstellen würde können, sodass ich das nun bekannte „Fairy Dreams„-Bild (🇬🇧) eingereicht hatte. Nun ist dieses dann also zum „High T“ (🇬🇧) geworden.

🇩🇪 Die Frohe Kunde vorneweg: Beim Arcryla City Summer Festival (🇬🇧) haben meine Beiträge und ich den dritten Platz belegt! Eine vollständige Übersicht meiner Beiträge findet ihr an oben verlinkter Stelle und auch noch einmal gebündelt auf meinem Instagram-Account.

Da das harte Arbeitsleben in der letzten Woche wieder so richtig einkickte, bin ich zeichnerisch in der vergangenen Woche ansonsten aber nicht zu sonderlich viel gekommen. In Arbeit sind noch zwei weitere Bilder zu Crissy Faith in Arcryla City (🇬🇧), über das am weitesten fortgeschrittene halte ich euch regelmäßig auf Patreon und Ko-fi auf dem Laufenden. Zu dem anderen darf und will ich noch nicht zu viel verraten, aber es handelt sich erneut um ein Kollaborationsprojekt, das sich aber erst in der Anfangsphase der Planung befindet.

Apropos Ko-fi: Eine weitere Änderung hat sich ergeben. Dort sind nun auch Mitgliedschaften möglich. Diese orientieren sich an den Mitfgliedschaftsstufen auf Patreon und bieten dieselben Arten von Inhalten (Early Access, Work in Progress etc.). Because hard daily work took me quite offguard, I didn’t draw much in the past week. There are two works in progress featuring Crissy Faith. in Arcryla City. You will be updated about the most elaborated on Patreon and Ko-fi. It’s too early to talk about the second one but it again will be a collab project which only is in the planning phase right now.

Apropos Ko-fi: You now can subscribe for membership. The membership levels are similar to the ones on Patreon and provide the same kind of content (Early Access, Work in Progress etc.). 🇩🇪 Gestern endete die Frist zur Einreichung der Beiträge für die general prompts des Arcryla City Summer Festival (🇬🇧). Unglaublich, dass das doch ganze 9 Wochen waren, in denen ich fast durchgehend für diese Festivität gezeichnet hatte.

Als einen letzten Beitrag hatte ich kurz vor dem Ende der Frist noch einen Beitrag zum Stichwort „Fairy Floss“ eingereicht. Die Geschichte ist jedoch noch nicht zu Ende geschrieben und es werden sicherlich noch weitere Bilder folgen, seien es weitere Prompts, seien sie von diesen unabhängig.

🇬🇧 Yesterday, was the deadline to submit the entries for the Arcryla City Summer Festival’s general prompts. Amazingly, full 9 weeks of painting almost permanently for these festivities.

As last entry before the deadline I submitted one for the prompt „Fairy Floss“. Still, the story didn’t come to an end, there will be more paintings in the future, prompt related or of an independent nature.

„Fairy Tale“

Whenever Crissy gets used to the thought to forget about her crush she turns up at unexpected times in unexpected places and does things to raise hope again.

Hierzu habe ich extra eine Unterseite (🇬🇧) angelegt, auf der ihr, solltet ihr nicht auf Instagram sein, die Details ebenfalls nachlesen könnt. 🎶 Toss a coin to your artist 🎶

🇩🇪 Ich habe erneut an der Seite gebastelt (mehr dazu in wenigen Augenblicken). Wer genau hinschaut, kann oben in der Leiste direkt über diesem PaintLog nun auch einen Link zu meiner Ko-fi-Seite entdecken. Wenn ihr mich unterstützen wollt, könnte ihr mir ab nun also auch hin und wieder einfach ein bisschen etwas in die Kaffeetasse tun. Gerne könnt ihr dies auch auf regelmäßiger Basis tun, die Preisstufen sind dieselben wie auf Patreon (mit denselben Benefits).

Die zweite Neuerung ist die englische Version (🇬🇧) der OC-Unterseite. Zur Zeit arbeite ich an einem Redraw einer meiner Charaktere (you will see) und habe alleine dadurch recht häufig über meine OCs nachgedacht. In dessen Zuge kam mir dann die Idee zu einem Übersichts-Blatt. Die Platz dort ist begrenzt, doch lassen sich einige OCs darauf unterbringen.

Neben meinem Übersichtsblatt findt ihr außerdem eine Blanko-Version zum Selberausfüllen. Oben links ist zudem Platz für eure persönlichen Kontaktinformationen oder Ähnliches. Für Unterstützer auf Patreon oder Ko-fi, gleich welchen Levels, ist außerdem ein Template mit transpartendem Hintergrund verfügbar, um euch das Zeichnen noch weiter zu vereinfachen.

Für welche Version ihr euch auch entscheidet, beide stehen zur freien Nutzung zur Verfügung. Ihr könnt sogar die Kategorien auf eure OCs zuschneiden. Zögert also nicht, eure OCs wo auch immer auf diese Weise zu präsentieren!

🇬🇧 Again I worked on this website (you’ll see in one moment). Who looks closely will discover in the band right above this PaintLog a link to my Ko-fi site. If you’d like to support me, from now you also can tip my coffee jar. Of course, I’d also appreciate if you’d like to do this on a regular basis. The price levels (and benefits) are the same as on Patreon.

Secondly, I created an English version of the OC page (🇩🇪). At the moment I’m working on a redraw of one of my original characters (you will see) and therefore I’m thinking a lot about them recently. So, I got this idea of this OC overview sheet. The space is limited but you can present several OCs in it.

There is also a blank sheet which you can use for yourself and for your OCs. In the upper left corner is space for personal contact information or likewise. Supporters on Parteon or Ko-fi (regardless the level) also will find a template with transparent backgrpund to make it easier to complete it and present your OCs.

Whatever version you’ll choose, both are free to use. You even can change the topics to suit them your OCs best. So, don’t hesitate to present your OCs wherever you’d like to do this!

Das Arcryla City (🇬🇧) Sommerfestival war in der vergangenen Woche wieder einmal für eine Überraschung gut: Aufgrund vielfachen Wunsches, unseren Mayor 🇬🇧 (oben ohne) zeichnen zu können, wurde ein neuntes General Prompt hinzugenommen. Nein, nicht den Mayor oben ohne, sondern ganz allgemein gehalten, den Mayour zu zeichnen. Ein bisschen Einblick auf seinen Body konnte ich mir mit meiner Zeichnung aber dann doch nicht verkneifen:

The Arcryla City was good for a surprise again last week: Due to several request to draw our Mayer (topless) a ninth general prompt has been announced. No, it’s not the Mayor to be painted topless but to draw him in general. I couldn’t refrain from giving a view on his body in my painting, though:

Da dieses Prompt allerdings erst nachträglich verlautbart wurde, wurde die Deadline zur Einreichung der Beiträge um eine Woche nach hinten verschoben, auf den 21.08.2021. Ich werde mich voraussichtlich also noch an mindestens ein Arcryla-City-Bild setzen (aber danach ebenfalls noch weitere Bilder featuring Crissy (🇬🇧) zeichnen).

Nichtsdestotrotz fand der letzte Showcase gestern statt. Aufgabe war, Lynette (🇬🇧), die neue Assistentin des Bürgermeisters, anhand der Infos, derer wir auf dem Discord Server bisher habhaft werden konnten, zu zeichnen:

Because this prompt has been announced subsequently, the deadline to hand in the entries for the general prompts (and to get points for them) has been postponed to 21 August 2021. Presumably I will start to work on another Arcryla City paintin, too (but also continuing drawing paintings featuring Crissy afterwards).

However, the last showcase took place yesterday, challenge being to depict Lynette, the Mayor’s new assistant with the help of the information already given on the Discord server:

Character Development

🇩🇪 Unverhofft kommt oft. Das heutige PaintLog war eigentlich schon fertig, da inspirierte mich die heutige Episode The Owl House zu einer weiteren Fanart-Zeichnung. Interessanterweise passt aber auch diese unter die obige Überschrift. Um euch nicht direkt zu spoilern, findet ihr das Bild wieder einmal ganz unten im PaintLog. Oder natürlich im OwlLog (🇬🇧) . Dort, wie auch auf Instagram, könnt ihr euch wie immer auch meinen Senf zu Gemüte führen, den ich zu der aktuellen Episode von mir zu geben habe.

Das Arcryla City (🇬🇧) Sommerfestival geht in die letzte Woche. Vorab also hier schon einmal die Ankündigung: Der nächste Showcase findet kommendes Wochenende in der Nacht von Samstag auf Sonntag deutscher Zeit statt. Wie üblich heißt dies, dass ihr meinen Beitrag zur letzten Challenge am darauffolgenden Sonntag an gewohnter Stelle (🇬🇧) finden werdet.

Dank zahlreicher Unterhaltungen und Brainstormings in den Chaträumen des Discord-Servers habe ich meinen Charakter Crissy (🇬🇧) in der Zwischenzeit soweit weiterentwickeln könnten, dass es Zeit für ein Update des Charakterbogens wurde. Der alte ist nach wie vor gültig, stellt sie aber „ready to work“ dar, der neue sie als Person:

Interestingly, this episode also fits under the topic you can find above. To not to spoiler you, you will find the painting right down at the end of this PaintLog. Or in the TheOwlLog, of course. There as well as on Instagram you also can take the two pennies which I gave to today’s episode.

The Arcryla City Summer Festival is heading into its last week. Therefore the announcement in advance: The next showcase will take place next weekend in the night of Saturday to Sunday (German time). As usual this means you will see my entry to this last challenge on the following Sunday at the usual place.

Thanks a lot of discussions and brainstorming in the chats of the Discord server my character Crissy developed in a way that there was time for an update of the charactersheet. The old one still is valid but it’s depicting her „ready to work“ while the new one shows her as person:

In der letzten Woche angekündigt war außerdem das zweite Kollaborationsbild. Diese erfolgte mit hyeonart von Instagram. Jede*r von uns hat ein Bild zum allgemeinen Prompt „Fireworks“ (🇬🇧) gezeichnet. Legt man beide Bilder aber nebeneinander, entsteht ein neues, größeres Bild. Selbstverständlich habe ich auch diesmal wieder die Erlaubnis, es hier zu posten, hyeonarts Bild findet ihr in groß ebenfalls auf Instagram.

Last week I also announced a second collaboration painting. This one was with hyeonart from Instagram. Everyone did theirs own painting for the general prompt „Fireworks“. But if you put both paintings next to each other, they will become a new painting, a bigger picture. Of course I got permission to share it here but you will find hyeonart’s painting in full size on Instagram, too.

Fireworks

Crissy went to the lake in the park to watch the upcoming fireworks. This time she even did not had to be talked into it. Looking out for a spot aside from the big crowds she met Lynux, a tailor (as she learned to know), and they had a lot of fun.

„Chasing Rainbows“

Going on a balloon ride with the person who is able to talk you into literally anything didn’t went as expected for Crissy. She is (slightly) afraid of heights but if your crush suggests to take a ride in this big, colourful balloons, you don’t say „no“.
