The Isles of the Season Faeries
You will find the full story on the Linktober website, here I’ll only give you a short summary:
The Great Fairy divided the world in four islands, every single one with its own season, but Ganon used this to his own evil purpose. He split the Great Fairy in four evil fairies. But there also was another one, a fifth island and its champion:
Chapter 1: Spring Island
Day 1 „OC Champion“
Navarra from the Zorca Domain, a humble Zorca without ambitions or even special fighting skills. One day she found a spear in the river near her home and the next moment the fairy Cheio appeared to tell her the tale of the Four Season Islands and the one unknown to Ganon. So, the adventure began …
Day 2 „OC’s Island / Home“
„Take this!“, Cheio told her and although it wasn’t the most original phrase to start an adventure, Navarra felt that it was an ancient one, one that heroes of all times heard before. So she took the spear and opened the shell the fairy offered her.
Day 3 „Islands Vehicle / Mount“
Inside the shell she found a gift which may turn out as useful in the future. She threw a look back to her home, then she called her mount, Epzora, the amphibious fish to start the travel to unknown fate.
Day 4 „Spring Treehouse“
Soon after leaving her home they spotted a little island raising above the water. The more they approached the more they recognized it as a giant sea anemonean tree, blossoms blooming like the most beautiful sea anemones‘ feeding time back in the Zorca Domain. As they approached even more, they also saw the house built on top of it.
Day 5 „Poison Monster“
Suddendly the water around them awoke. Three dangerous looking blobs arouse and a bigger one enclosed the tree house. Poison run from the top of the sea anemone and infected the once beautiful blossoms. Not enough, the big blob threw poisonous drops on them Navarra had to avoid. Despite poison – next to electricity – were the most dreadful horror to a water-living Zorca, there were no way to escape and by the way, the fairy as well as Navarra won’t stand for it. So, Navarra used the spear to fight the monster.
Day 6 „Seedy Item Shop“
In the end Navarra succeeded. The tree house was damaged visibly and the blossoms were gone but at the same time the poison must have let seeds grown from them with items Navarra could choose from. Furthermore, somebady must have attached a „Shop“ sign on the sea anemone – or did it grow by itself?
Day 7 „Natural Weapon“
Navarra followed an otherwise strange feeling and she was curious anyway. She chose the least obvious item: A seed which seemingly didn’t open after it growth.
„Right choice“, a voice said out of nowhere …
Day 8 „Treehouse Champion“
A low susurrus rouse above the water, swelling gently and then green lights and flames emerged, in the centre of them the figure of a Rito. A weird one, their wings not designed to fly, obviously. The Rito introduced herself as „Pengrito“, „The Champion who flew the waves“. She told Navarra about the Four Champions of Old who once tried to stop Ganon to spoil the isles – years ago. They failed. Spring Island sank but for this tiny treehouse and only Pengrito’s ghost survived. Still, in foresight of their defeat each one left a last secret heirloom to help the new Champion-to-be defeat Ganon in the future.
Now it’s Navarra’s task to finish the Champions‘ work, but …
Day 9 „Rot Fairy“
The susurrus increased, a trempling befell the water, the sea anemone burst! A figure rose from the depths, trailing an ugly smell with her, rotted to the bork. You could spot the slime which once may have been leaves and their wing’s skeletons built by their veins.
„This is the Curse which befell Spring Island!“, Pengrito faded but her voice remained. „But the Cure grew upon the remains of the Poison Monster.“
A soft glow emanated from the seed Navarra still hold in her hands and fresh, vivid sprouts sprang into the mouldy body of the Rot Fairy. The fight was tough, though, at one point Navarra was down but Cheio showed her worth: Her dust rescued Navarra on the price of exhausting Cheio for the rest of the fight.
As enough sprouts and flowers and blossoms pierced the Rot Fairy her body was torn apart and the reborn Spring Fairy appeared behind the rotten leaves. With her another trembling grew and with this trembling Spring Island rose again …
