Winter Island was cold and abandoned. In a cave which once drove the hot springs, she met The Subrosian Champion and took the firebucket slingshot. land. After a hard fight she tossed the Giant Frost Fairy into the lava beneath the icy ground and this way freed the Winter Fairy.
Day 30 – „Ganon/Ganondorf“ – Part 1: The Path to Ganon
The Winter Fairy gave Navarra a lift back to the surface of Winter Island.
From the highest peak she already could spot the change: The hot springs were filling back again and the howling wind was lowering.
„Congratulations“, the Winter Fairy started talking.
„You found the Seed of Spring, the Flamelet of Summer, The Fall Mask and the Winterfire Slingshot, the four Champions are standing beside you and now it is up to us, the Four Season Fairies, to help you with your last challenge.“
A cold whirlwind arouse and ran down the peak until it reached the shores of Winter Island and beyond, buildung a solid ice path on the waves of the ocean, approaching towards a point in the distance somewhere in the middle of the ocean. Next thing Navarra noticed was that this growing ice path wasn’t the only path finding its way. From the peak she also saw the other Isles. As the sight of the ice path’s tip went smaller and smaller she also saw the movement on Fall Island – the nearest of the Season Isles – leaves over leaves covering the sea, likewise buildung a path to the same spot like the one from Winter Island, then the paths coming from Spring Island and Summer Island, a path of blossoms and a path of dry sand dividing the sea.
As all four Season paths met – no, they didn’t met, they only almost met – ice and leaves and blossoms and sand followed the contours of a building, a huge building, a big pyramide, invisible until now.
Day 30 „Ganon/Ganondorf“ – Part 2: The Sorcerer
It wasn’t easy to climb the steps. She felt the stone under ice and leaves and sand and blossoms but though her feet told her otherwise, the pyramid itself still was invisible. At the top someone was waiting for her. He was big and muscular with stern eyes from which you could spot the malice which grew inside him, although he still made quite an impression. If there was an evil overlord you would wish to die for, it would be HIM.
„That’s Ganondorf, King, Thief, Sorcerer, Beast, Calamity“, the Champions whispered inside Navarra’s head.
„This is one of his incarnations, don’t be deceived, he wants to rule the world and any other world. Only you are standing between him and this goal now.“
Ganondorf seemed to be amused, standing there, crossed arms, examining her with these fiery eyes.
„You came to stop me. – Well, you came, but you won’t stop me. Your journey through life will end now and here.“
Without delay he started his attack. He was a good swordsman but since Navarra was faster than him and because she had a spear not only to parry him but also to strike from a greater distance than he was able to, he soon exchanged it for a giant trident. And almost immediately he lost his patience and just threw a fierce energy beam on her. Again, Navarra had to dodge the attack and the few times she actually hit him, she seemingly didn’t hurt him much.
„How?!“, Navarra asked the Champions and one moment later Penta appeared.
„He has a scar from a former incarnation’s punishment on his chest – hit it!“
Now that Penta pointed to this scar, Navarra could spot it too and after one last strike, Ganondorf collapsed.
However, Navarra got the impression that it still felt too easy.
Day 30 „Ganon/Ganondorf“ Part 3: The Beast
And she was right.
From the collapsed body a new, an even bigger figure arouse.
„Now he is Ganon the Beast, his true self“, Penta prompted, already fading again.
Ganon lifted his trident but before he sent his deadly beam again, fiery bats lightened up, giving Navarra a fierce hunt. To defend herself (and to get refreshed again) she summoned Gworria and the next moment the lucky thought struck her to try out the Seed of Spring. For a short moment it worked. The plants caught Ganon before he even could wield the trident and they begun to squash him with force.
This moment, Ganon changed again. Now he transformed into a fullgrown boar. The plant chains exploded, Navarra had to call Pengrito to leap out of Ganon’s way.
„He’s getting in a rage. He isn’t thinkinkg anymore, that’s good. At the same time his strength is growing and he is unpredictable, that’s bad.“
Navarra now was hardly able to wield or even toss her spear, she only was able to run. As she ran through the leaf and blossom covered parts of the pyrmid’s top, the fires the previous fights had caused reminded her of another weapon she found on her quest. The next time the boar ploughed through fall and spring, she threw the winterfire on it, burning it on burning ground.
Day 30 „Ganon/Ganondorf“ – Part 4: The Calamity
„It isn’t over“, the Subrosian Champion whispered.
From the burning fire a new fire rouse, bigger, fiercer, the malice visible, spreading calamity by sheer appearance.
„Ganon the demon, the calamity! Now, soon it’s over – this way or another.“
Red ambers flew through the air, fire and smoke formend a giant boar’s snout in the distance but then rapidly approaching. It was only for the Subrosian Champion that Navarra survived the first attack without much damage. First she didn’t notice it but when watching the Calamity approaching she recognised: She actually wasn’t invisible but she was wrapped into something like a field of hot air which distorted vision. This way the Calamity lost her view and Navarra leapt aside. The Calamity was big enough to hit her, though, and the pain was noticeable but she still was alive.
However, she knew the Subrosian Champion’s Warmth wouldn’t last long and not even long enough. Calamity Ganon already approached anew through the air as the Warmth shield faded away.
„Now he is a demon, an evil spirit, a ghost“, Gworria pointed out and Navarra knew what to do.
After the fight with the Puppetmaster Fairy, there still were some ghost bombs left. Putting on the Mask of the Hero of Time made them accessible again. Navarra got hit a few times, but so did Ganon.
With the last bomb, well thrown into its big mouth, the Calamity burst in a cloud of wisps and smoke.
Day 31 „Restored Great Fairy“
The smoke faded, the air cleared, Navarra couldn’t tell if Ganon now was defeated for once and forever but since the feeling of the immediate tread was gone, it was good enough for now. As the smoke faded, at the same time a symbol began to show up on the ground.
„The Triforce, the godly icon, the symbol of power, wisdom and courage“, Cheio told her.
But there was more going on.
All of the four Champions appeared simultaneously and Navarra watched lights which came from them, flying through the air, whirling around a spot somewhere above the center of the Triforce symbol. And while they did so, by and by another figure took shape.
The Great Fairy who once made the Season Isles as they were before the corruption by Ganon cam back to life again. And with her life as it was supposed to be came back to the Season Isles.
Navarra became „The Champion who revived the World“.
Cheio, Flamelet and her finally returned to the Zorca Domain – but not without traveling the Isles of Seasons in their new, revived state, seeing yet unknown wonders and – perhaps – more adventures to come.
